Celebration Group
 Birthdays, holidays, and special events need to be celebrated. We all love to get a Valentine, so do individuals who have developmental disabilities. Volunteer groups celebrate life's milestones with residents insuring that they know someone cares.
Along with being patient, kind, compassionate, and caring, these volunteers must have a desire to enjoy life and celebrate living. Volunteers must like to send birthday and holiday cards and love to plan and carry out party plans.
Activities:
. Establish a relationship with the residents in specific group homes.
. Learn the likes and activities of the residents.
. Plan and carry out a fun activity on a monthly basis.
. Remember residents on birthdays and special days with a card or
phone call.
. Plan all activities in coordination with the manager responsible for
the residence to which you are assigned.
Requirements:
. One representative of the group must undergo background screening
. Group orientation required
. Plan one activity per month
. Be able to commit to 2 to 4 hours monthly
. Be available between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. week-days or any time
weekends.
