Citrus Memorial Hospital Enclave

We have our first “Enclave” started at Citrus Memorial Hospital. An enclave is a group of consumers working at one place in the community with a on-site supervisor provided by the Key Training Center.  We currently have 6 persons with disabilities working at the hospital in custodial positions. They are paid at the same starting wage for anyone in their position.  Each person has to go through the orientation provided by the hospital as anyone else that works there.  Our staff person supervises this group the enitre time they are there, assuring that the work is completed as expected each day. The consumers that were hired by the hospital are very happy with their job. They feel a sense of pride with their jobs while still getting support of an on-sire supervisor.  The hospital supervisors are very happy because they have reliable employees and the hospital is getting clean. The CEO of the hospital announced he is so pleased with the group’s performance that their accreditation was improved this year.
