Annual Fund
The Key Training Center relies on Annual Giving to help fund more than the bare essentials of service, supporting programs that are not covered by government funding, and providing services to over 50 individuals who receive no State funding assistance for services. In fact, these individuals are on the State's waiting list with over 23,000 other names for developmentally disabled services.
Although 68% of the funds are generated through local, state and federal monies, they are for the expenses of the consumers and do not cover the real cost of the operations at Key Training Center. The Key Center strives to be self-supporting as possible, generating 32% of the annual budget shortfall. Out of that, 18% percent of the operating budget depends upon private donations and grants. While 18% is a modest percentage, the dollars needed are significant, amounting to over $1.5 million each year. Through the Annual Fund, gifts made to Key Center Foundation help offset shortages for the services we provide.
The Key Training Center is an efficient and effective nonprofit human services organization providing over 300 developmentally disabled adults with year-round educational, vocational, and residential services enabling them to live a life with kindness, love, dignity, and respect.
