Sheltered Employment
The sheltered workshop is an important component of the Adult Day Training Program. In the sheltered workshop, Key Center staff helps clients function in a vocational setting as independently as possible.
Clients receive wages based on their ability, productivity and the prevailing wage for similar jobs. Work involves repetitive tasks. Jobs include simple assembly, packaging items in bags or boxes and bulk mailing. Some projects include repackaging products processed incorrectly in foreign countries.
The Key Center’s sheltered workshop helps businesses meet ongoing and temporary high-production demands for simple processes.
