Celebration Group
Birthdays, holidays, and special events need to be celebrated. We all love to get a Valentine, so do individuals who have developmental disabilities. Volunteer groups celebrate life's milestones with residents insuring that they know someone cares.
Along with being patient, kind, compassionate, and caring, these volunteers must have a desire to enjoy life and celebrate living. Volunteers must like to send birthday and holiday cards and love to plan and carry out party plans.
Activities:
- Establish a relationship with the residents in specific group homes.
- Learn the likes and activities of the residents.
- Plan and carry out a fun activity on a monthly basis.
- Remember residents on birthdays and special days with a card or
phone call.
- Plan all activities in coordination with the manager responsible for
the residence to which you are assigned.
Requirements:
- Group orientation required
- Plan one activity per month
- Be able to commit to 2 to 4 hours monthly
- Be available between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. week-days or any time
weekends.
