Day Training Coach

BuddiesDevelopmentally disabled adults can learn to accomplish tasks which enable them to enjoy life more fully. Day Training Coaches work together with the classroom instructors to provide one-on-one attention to an individual, reinforcing learning. Coaches bring their talents and skills to the classroom providing the opportunity to learn crafts, cooking and computer skills among others.

Successful individuals have patience, kindness, love and the ability to be nonjudgmental. The ability to work closely with team members to accomplish goals and flexibility is essential. Special skills such as sewing, cooking, crafts, computer, leading basic exercises and/or the ability to tutor in math or reading are helpful but not required.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Plan the day’s activities with the classroom instructors.
  • Focus on the client providing individualized attention.
  • Reinforce positive learning.
  • Provide repetitive learning.
  • Assist clients to move from one location to another.
  • Assist with lunch time activities.
