Recreation Aides

BuddiesBuild self esteem and confidence in developmentally delayed and physically handicapped adults through recreational activities. Through playing games and doing exercises individuals improve fine motor skills enhancing their ability to care for themselves. These activities improve overall health and well-being.

Successful volunteers are kind, patient, caring individuals who enjoy recreational activities and games. Recreational aides are compassionate and have a good sense of humor.

Activities:

  • Assist Play board games
  • Aid in activities such as coloring, string beads, craft projects.
  • Participate in outdoor games and activities.
  • Demonstrate the appropriate actions.
  • Provide encouragement.
  • Join in Sing-a-Longs.
  • Assist residents with aquatic activities

Requirements:

  • Available to contribute 2 hours per week sometime within the following time frames:
  • Tues - Fri from 4pm to 5pm or 6pm - 8pm
  • Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Extensive background screening
  • Orientation and Training
  • TB Test
