Workshop Aide
Developmentally disabled adults can learn to accomplish tasks which enable them to enjoy life more fully and give them the satisfaction of being a productive human being with an income that is their own. Workshop Aides together with the workshop supervisors provide supervision, quality control, and one-on-one attention to individuals who are striving to accomplish fundamental tasks in a work environment.
Successful individuals have patience, kindness, love, a sense of humor and the ability to be non-judgmental. The ability to work closely with a team member to accomplish goals is essential.
Activities:
- Plan out the day's focus of attention with the workshop supervisor.
- Focus on the program participant providing individualized attention.
- Reinforce positive behaviors.
- Assure that the tasks being done are done correctly.
- Assist program participants to move from one location to another.
- Assist with lunch time activities.
- Provide alternate activities such as hand crafts when the work is
completed.
Requirements:
- Assist in workshop one day per week
- Be available between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
- Extensive background screening
- Orientation and Training
- TB Test
