Workshop Aide

Workshop AideDevelopmentally disabled adults can learn to accomplish tasks which enable them to enjoy life more fully and give them the satisfaction of being a productive human being their own income. Workshop Aides, together with the workshop supervisors, provide supervision, quality control and one-on-one attention to individuals who are striving to accomplish fundamental tasks in a work environment.

Successful individuals have patience, kindness, love, a sense of humor and the ability to be non-judgmental. The ability to work closely with a team member to accomplish goals is essential.


  • Plan out the day's focus of attention with the workshop supervisor.
  • Focus on the client providing individualized attention.
  • Reinforce positive behaviors.
  • Assure that the tasks being done are done correctly.
  • Assist program participants to move from one location to another.
  • Assist with lunch time activities.
  • Provide alternate activities such as crafts when the work is completed.


  • Assist in workshop one day per week.
  • Be available between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
  • Extensive background screening.
  • Orientation and Training.
  • TB Test.
