Wills & Bequests
Wills and bequests are the most common form of planned gift. A donor may leave cash, securities, retirement account assets or property to the Key Center Foundation. Bequests can be designated for a particular purpose, or be unrestricted.
There are several types of bequests:

Specific Bequest
|
Give by will a specific dollar amount or piece of property. (For example: I bequeath to the Key Center Foundation the sum of $10,000.)

Residuary Bequest
|
Give by will all or a portion of the donor’s assets, after all debts, taxes, expenses, and other bequests have been paid. (For example, I bequeath to the Key Center Foundation 25% of the rest and remainder of my estate.)

|
Contingent Bequest
|
Donate assets if the donor’s primary beneficiaries are no longer living. (For example: If John Jones and Jill Jones should predecease me, I give and bequeath my estate to the Key Center Foundation.)

|
Restricted Bequest
|
Give an amount to be used for a specific purpose such as to create a named endowment fund ($5,000 minimum), or to a specific program for the developmentally disabled.
